I did it

I sent out my resignation from the latest blot on my resume. I know it was a bit rash, but I really think this job was worse than being unemployed. I have had a really nervous stomach for the past week and headaches that won't quit. Once a job manifests itself physically, I think there is really no option but to get out.

I really don't know what I am going to do now. I have my resume out in so many directions that there has to be something that pans out soon. I am going to start contacting temp agencies tomorrow and Monday.

Well, I guess I'll see just how resilliant I really am. Wish me luck.

Forced into Knitting

Work has been stressing me out a lot lately. I mean a lot. So much so that I think I am getting a nervous stomach. I am not happy with my latest employment situation. Once again, I have found myself working for someone that does not appreciate me and does not treat me well. My, I have a penchant for finding the unpleasant bosses!

But at least I am trying to be productive about my unhappiness. I have found myself picking up the needles to calm my nerves more than usual. Actually, since this weekend, I have the back and half of one front piece for an aran cardigan finished. I frogged the aran sweater that I have had on the needles for the past couple of years. Sadly, there have been friends chewing on my yarn and salvaging wasn't easy. Oh well, I can make the best of it. And it looks really nice. I have been in need of a nice wool aran sweater. I think the cardigan will be a good choice. Easy to muck about in.

Well, I better get back to sending out my resume...again....still. I am really tired of looking for a job. But I think I may end up scrapping this gig before I have anywhere else to go. I am too old to be treated like this and too good to believe any of this crap. Last I checked, I am a competant professional that can do just about anything that I set my mind to. So, now I just need to find something that is worth setting my mind to. Wish me luck, again. And if you know of an opening in the NYC area....

Home Again

What a wonderful vacation! I have offically fallen in love with London. I had such a wonderful time there. I want to go back already. There are very few places that I have been to that have insired this much desire to return. The weather was great, warmer than NYC, no rain, gray but comfortable. I managed to see all kinds of sites, mostly the well known locales. But we made it to 2 different museums, Tate Modern and National Portrait Gallery. There was a St. Patrick's Day festival in Trafalgar Square last Sunday with all kinds of Irish bands playing and green water in the fountains. I hit the Camden Markets and Covent Gardens Market and found a few fun trinkets to remind me of the fun there. I also saw Festen on the West End (London's Broadway) on the recommendation of a poker buddy. Everything was just wonderful.

But I am back in the States now and almost back to the right time zone. The strangest thing that is going on right now is that I keep running into people I used to work with on the street. Yesterday, I ran into a co-worker from Morgan Stanley (haven't seen him in about 3 years) and today was someone from the Dodger world (haven't seen since Feb.).

Well, I am going to get back to catching up on some knitting that I feel like I haven't had a chance to do for a while (I took no projects with me overseas). So, today is all about relaxing on my home turf and getting back into my groove.

Vacation Time

Today I am off to London. I will have a week in the UK just hanging with my friend, Ardra. She is the friend that went with me to Paris in November. I am so looking forward to this trip. It looks like I may be able to meet up with my cousin, Tiffany, who is out there for training for a new job. I think we will be meeting up over the weekend. Also, my friend, Angela, will be heading out to Paris for training for her new job and may stop by London to hang with us before she starts her training. I can't wait!

I am just hoping that it is just a bit warmer than the 21 degrees and snow that we have here. According to weather.com, I am looking at weather above freezing and no rain until we are about to leave. I am not complaining.

We are staying in Picadilly Circus at the Regent Palace. I am so excited! Well, I had to do laundry and errands before I go. I'll post pictures when I get back.
